Legal Intern

  • The Litigation Department is responsible for providing dispute resolution on legal issues that arise in the course of business, ranging from litigation and claims, to commercial and corporate transactions and contracts, to employment law and compliance and regulatory issues, to personal law including children, family and succession. We provide seamless legal support across the country using technology and innovative processes to enhance our quality and improve the client‚Äôs experience

    The Role

    HKLaw is seeking one ATP law student to assist our litigation department as an intern. The Internship will run for twenty-four weeks and will require approximately 20 hours per week beginning Wednesday, May 4th 2022. The individual will be exposed to a wide range of general litigation matters, including client interviews, drafting pleadings, legal research, civil process, alternative dispute resolution, trial preparation etc. This position will be a virtual position.

    The internship provides the ATP student the developmental opportunity to work side-by- side with advocates and other legal specialists and to learn more about potential career paths within the legal profession and what it is like to work as litigation advocate.

    The successful candidate shall be paid a stipend of KES. 20,000 per month.

    About you

    • We are seeking to identify a student with excellent grades and outstanding research, communication and writing skills
    • Must be available to work approximately 20 hours per week for the duration of the internship
    • Must include handwritten cover letter and LLB transcript
